About Me

For the past twenty-one years, Joanna Hootnick has, often concurrently, attended, worked within and academically examined the world of institutions of higher education, earning her BA at Harvard College, an MA and MEd at Columbia University’s Teachers College and an MBA at NYU’s Stern School of Business. She has worked in and with offices as varied as Harvard’s admissions office; development offices at NYU, Harvard Business School and Columbia’s law and business schools; as well as Columbia’s office of the president and central development office. She serves as co-chair of her Schools Committee of New York, which conducts prospective Harvard student interviews, as well as national co-chair for her Harvard class’s participation fundraising committee, earning the Flather Award for her efforts. She resides in New York City, where she works as Executive Director for Campaign Planning and Analysis in Columbia University’s Office of Alumni and Development.
